Snowmobiling is very popular on Svalbard. It allows you to go a lot further in one day. If a multi day dogsledging trip would have our preference for the calm and experience, definitely the snowmobile brings you to landscapes you would not reach otherwise.

You can rent snowscooters if you have a driving license (don’t forget it), but we advise to take organized tours to avoid getting lost, managing breakdowns or accidents, not forgetting the polar bear protection.

Be careful, some areas are not available to tourists, even travelling with locals (check here). Some paths are even available only to a few people, so seeing tracks does not mean you can follow them.

In summer, you can ride ATV up to a nice panoramic view.
